Located in Western Springs, IL, Lyons Township High School is now in its second phase of construction on its new set of learning stairs. This space is made of up six risers, five study areas, and a landing. Phase one winvolved work on the subfloor. Phase two is installation of the flooring that goes on top.
This sitting area is called Egg Stairs because of the curvature of the seats and staircases. This functions much like learning stairs in the examples below. At New Trier HIgh School in Winnetka, Illinois, these café egg stairs were constructed of ash and then stained with a beautiful mahagany.
In Milwaukee Tool's downtown Milwaukee office atrium you will find these learning stairs. The company uses them for large gatherings and company-wide meeteings.
Located in the Wauwatosa School District in southeast Wisconsin, Lincoln Elementary School added learning stairs to its common area. Not all learning stairs have to be big to be effective.
